'Wheel of Fortune' contestant makes viral mistake: 'Treat yourself a round of sausage'

Social media can't get enough of a "Wheel of Fortune" contestant's hilarious flub of a pretty straightforward puzzle.
On Monday night's episode, one contestant named Will incorrectly guessed the puzzle "_ _ _e _ourse_f a roun_ of a_ _ _ause" as "Treat yourself a round of sausage."
The answer, solved right after his guess, was: "Give yourself a round of applause."
"Will, I kind of like yours better," host Ryan Seacrest joked.
In a social media video with "Wheel" social correspondent Maggie Sajak following the episode, Will said his mind "just went blank" when attempting to solve the puzzle.

"But if your dad in retirement is watching the show, maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it," he told Sajak, daughter of former host Pat Sajak. "I'm sure I'm gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back."
Seacrest came by toward the end of the clip to soften the blow and sign a cue card for Will's family. "Don't worry, you're already getting some benefits from this," Maggie Sajak said.

Some social media users pointed out that it wasn't the best performance from any of the night's contestants.
"It wasn't just that round. It was asking for a K for the word Five and K for staring. Also the final round was an embarrassment for all players and the bonus round was so bad. Nobody was on their A game," one Instagram user wrote.
However, others were pretty forgiving of the mishap.
"Shoutout to Will for being a great sport and for making us laugh right along with him!" another wrote.
Will's guess probably wasn't as big of a disappointment as a viral misguess earlier this year, when a contestant guessed "_ _ n'_ l_ok aw_ _" as "Don't look away." Despite the contestants and even Vanna White celebrating, the answer was actually, "Can't look away."

"Everybody is congratulating everybody," Pat Sajak said as the contestants reacted in dismay. "And: We get to keep the money!" he joked.
Seacrest took over the reins from Sajak in September, after the "Wheel" icon retired in June following more than four decades and 8,000 shows.
